My current
research
interests include digital literacy, literary engagement in multiple media, teaching literature, writing and multimodality, integrating digital technologies in
secondary
humanities classrooms, and secondary English language arts teaching
methods.
Here (pdf) is a description of my primary research project, Reading, Writing, and Teaching Complex Print and Digital Narrative, which is funded by the Social Sciences and
Humanities Research Council of Canada (2008-2011).
I am also a founding member of the Canadian HCI-Book Working Group, which has been invited to apply for research funding through the SSHRC Major Collaborative Research Initiative in the 2008 competition. In this context I am responsible (with Claire Warwick, University College London) for leading research in the area of user/reader experience with a wide range of humanities artifacts (pre-print, print, and post-print).
